Alessia & Martin

Our story is kind of like a romantic comedy, full of missed opportunities, unexpected twists, and a whole lot of patience!

It all began in Australia, in Perth, where we both decided “coincidentally” to go and improve our English. But of course, fate has a sense of humor. Martin went a year after Alessia. So, no chance of meeting. Well played, universe.

Round two: back in Switzerland, we both end up at the École Hôtelière de Lausanne. But once again, the timing isn’t on our side. Alessia is two years ahead of Martin. He spots her in the hallways (he’s got a sharp eye), but it’s too late to say hi. She graduates and disappears. Not one to give up easily, Martin asks some mutual friends for her number (shout out to those friends!) and shoots his shot via text. And… well… it didn’t work. Let’s just say the message got left on “read.” Oops!

After that, Martin goes off on new adventures to Shanghai, then Cape Town. But, even with all the distance, Alessia is still on his mind. Once back in Switzerland, and armed with some well-crafted texts, he decides to give it another shot. This time, he’s persistent. Martin never gives up easily. Finally, after a long wait (okay, not *that* long), Alessia agrees to meet him. And in June 2018, they finally meet for real. From that day on, they’ve never been apart.

Since then, our story has been like a great recipe; filled with laughter, shared projects (yes, even professional ones!), and a whole lot of love. We’re just glad that fate finally stopped playing hide-and-seek with us!
